Turtles play on this baby quilt pattern

Turtles came up in a question recently and I started searching for a baby quilt pattern with them. Then for any pattern! Turtles are so cute that you'd think they'd show up a little more often. They aren't any more difficult to applique than other animals so I'm not entirely sure why they're discriminated against!

But I did chance on the Tuella's Day Out pattern by Quilter's Paradise that features turtles and butterflies along with some pretty flowers. They're all done by applique and embroidery and the quilt finishes at 48"x60" - perfect size!

Still - I think of turtles and frogs and lizards and ponds. Boy stuff, in other words. And this particular quilt is definitely on the girly side and not easily switched just by fabric choices. How would you make it a boy quilt?
