2011 Challenge: Diamonds Royale - Girl

This was definitely one of my least favorite patterns in the book, from the tons of bias edges to cut and sew to just a waste of cutting off half the diamonds around the sides. That said, I do love it in purple!

The back is a purple fabric with pink and turquoise ladybugs on it and a wee bit of glitter to it. I went back and forth on this because the front is kind of elegant. Should the back be elegant or fun? Does it really matter? (To which, my answer was obviously no.)

Quilted in a big loopy fashion with purple thread in the center and a leaf pattern in the border.

That looks pretty cool, I have been thinking about finding a few beginner baby quilt patterns to have my Wife chose from. I figured that I could help her make a little quilt for the little girl that we are going to have, I just have no clue how quilting works, and it has been years for my Wife.
